About the clinician
I am LaShae’ Smith, a Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW-C) with a Master's in Social Work and a Bachelor's in Psychology. In my role as a clinical therapist, I am dedicated to providing individual and couples therapy, and I have training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. With 9 years of experience in diverse roles, including case manager, crisis intervention specialist, and clinician, I have developed a keen understanding of the varied needs of my clients.
In 2018, I launched "The Meltdown Mogul Podcast" to create a supportive community for women as they navigate adulthood through thoughtful conversations. I prioritize creating a safe space for women of color who are in transitional phases of life, allowing them to delve into past hurts, address current challenges, and set aspirations for the future. My areas of focus include Depression, Anxiety, Postpartum issues, Grief, and Interpersonal Relationships. I employ a person-centered approach to tailor unique goals for each individual, ensuring that therapy feels personal and relevant.
Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, I faced many challenges in the inner city. Witnessing my older sister's struggles with mental health, including depression and trauma, ignited my passion for mental wellness. I saw firsthand how insufficient mental health services can impact individuals and families, driving my desire to make a difference. This journey inspires me daily as I provide support to those facing similar experiences. Life indeed comes with its challenges, but therapy offers a path to manage and embrace them. Together, we can work towards a brighter future.
Are you searching for a welcoming space to dive deep into your past experiences, explore your triggers, and understand your identity, self-worth, and relationships? Do you feel weary of presenting a version of yourself that doesn't reflect your true self? If you're striving for positive mental health and personal growth, eMbrace Therapeutic Services is here to support you.
We specialize in guiding women through their unique experiences in familial, platonic, professional, and romantic relationships. Our environment is designed to foster transparency and vulnerability, allowing you to share how these experiences shape your mental health. We envision therapy as a collaborative journey, where both client and clinician work together to encourage personal reflection and accountability.
In our initial sessions, we will explore the areas you'd like to improve. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that leverages your strengths to facilitate meaningful changes. Many clients notice a gradual lift in symptoms within the first few months, with continued improvements over time. Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we will identify and reshape thought patterns, enhancing your emotional well-being and transforming your behaviors for the better.
We invite you to take this step toward growth with us, ensuring a warm and understanding atmosphere every step of the way.
